There are so many seasons in a woman’s life where she becomes everything to everyone else. Mom. Wife. Partner. Provider. Caregiver. The one who keeps everything moving. And sometimes, without even realizing it, the woman underneath all of those roles gets quieter and quieter.

That’s what I love so much about this story. She didn’t walk into my studio because she needed to become someone new. She came because she was ready to rediscover the woman who had been there all along. To see herself outside of motherhood, relationships, her career, and everything she had spent years doing for everyone else.

And what she found was so much bigger than beautiful photographs.

“I recently had a session with Brin, and all I can say is… WOW!!!

As a woman who became a mother at a young age, went through a divorce, and raised two boys, I spent many years doing whatever I needed to do to make life good for my children. Somewhere along the way, I often put myself last.

Then, when my boys became adults and I became an empty nester, I found myself feeling a little lost. I wasn’t sure what my purpose was anymore, and I realized I had to rediscover who I was, what brought me joy, and what made me feel happy and confident in my own skin.

I had always wanted to do a boudoir photoshoot, but for the longest time, I thought boudoir photos were something you did for a man. And honestly, I had never felt confident enough in myself to actually go through with it.

About a year ago, I found a partner who truly loves and adores every inch of me. Being loved that way made me want to make an effort to see myself the way he sees me — and, more importantly, to learn to see myself that way too.

That’s when I called Brin.

From the very first conversation, she made me feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged. She reminded me that this experience could be something I did for myself just as much as I was doing it for my partner.

When the day finally arrived, I was SO nervous! But I quickly realized there was absolutely no reason to be.

Fallon at Esoteric Salon worked her magic and made me feel so beautiful. Then, when I arrived at the studio, Brin immediately put me at ease. She was honest and encouraging about which outfits complimented my body and which ones didn’t, and she never rushed the process. She made me feel comfortable being exactly who I am.

And the results? Incredible.

I honestly had no idea I could look — and feel — that sexy!

But what surprised me most wasn’t the photos. It was how I felt when I left the studio. I felt like I had found a piece of myself that had been missing for so many years.

Not a mom.

Not a partner.

Not defined by my career.

Just me.

A woman who is allowed to take up space, feel beautiful, feel confident, and simply be herself.

This experience was so much more than a photoshoot. It was a reminder that I am still here, and that I deserve to celebrate me — not just the roles I’ve spent my life fulfilling.

And for that, I will always be grateful to Brin. ❤️“

This. This is why I love boudoir so damn much.

Yes, we create beautiful photographs. Yes, you get to dress up, feel sexy, and see yourself in a way you maybe never have before. But underneath all of that, something else can happen.

You remember yourself.

Not the mom. Not the wife or partner. Not your job. Not who you are for everyone else.

You.

The woman who existed before all of those titles and still exists underneath them. The woman who deserves to take up space, feel beautiful, feel sexy, be curious about herself, and have experiences that belong entirely to her.

Sometimes we spend so many years showing up for everyone else that coming home to ourselves feels unfamiliar.

And then, one day, you look at a photograph and think, There I am.

That will forever be one of my favourite parts of this work.
